Ask and you shall receive: CMM gone full country is definitely something we’ve yet to see. As the legendary Sun Records founder Sam Phillips, Murray (not to be confused with Leo DiCaprio) and his newfound twang play the man responsible for launching the careers of young “white hot” Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash — and, thus, a whole new influential sound. (One which this teaser duly acknowledges came from the blues.) The series will share the “untold” story of how Phillips facilitated the spread of all this good music into the hearts of the good people of Memphis, Tennessee. Sun Records premieres February 23 alongside Nashville, for all your scripted country drama needs.
