We’ll never get to see Hellboy 3 come to fruition after all. Despite our waiting and hell raising (Guillermo del Toro even made that very official Twitter poll that asked us to choose between “yes” and “hell yes!”), the director confirmed via Twitter that another Hellboy movie won’t happen. Even though Ron Perlman seemed game, it looks like 2008’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army was the end of the road. “Must report that 100% the sequel will not happen,” del Toro tweeted this morning.
Perlman, who works with GDT on Netflix’s Trollhunters, also tweeted a somber message about the movie:
