Kanye West Shares That Hypnotic Version of The-Dream Singing ‘Bed’ From His Yeezy Season 5 Fashion Show

Most Kanye West fashion shows have come to be known as spectacles for premiering new music; one saw the debut of an entire new album. However, for Yeezy Season 5, Kanye took a more subtle approach and instead let someone else’s music do the talking. His latest fashion show was scored by a single song — a looped version of The-Dream singing J. Holiday’s sensual “Bed.” A decade ago, The-Dream wrote and demoed that song for Chris Brown, but as the industry goes, it ended up in the hands of lesser-known R&B hopeful J. Holiday as his big break. Meanwhile, The-Dream’s original existed only on an obscure mixtape. Kanye, being just the kind of audiophile and retired blogger who would collect such a mixtape (and also The-Dream’s good friend), resurrected the demo in a new mix with the help of producers DJDS for his show, giving it a hypnotic lullaby effect. It’s here now in full, all 17 minutes of it, to successfully rock your body to sleep at night.
