Australian Comedy ‘Rosehaven’ Makes Its US Debut Next Month on SundanceTV

Earlier this year, SundanceTV acquired US rights to the Australian comedy series Rosehaven, and today the network released the season 1 trailer. Created by and starring Luke McGregor and Celia Pacquola, the series centers on “two pals with big plans who find their friendship and sanity put to the test by the eccentric townsfolk of Rosehaven.”

Here’s the logline for the show’s debut season, which premiered in Australia last year:

On season one of Rosehaven, McGregor plays Daniel McCallum, who returns to his rural Tasmanian hometown, Rosehaven, to help his intimidating mother (Kris McQuade) with her real estate business. He gets a surprise when his best friend from the mainland, Emma (Pacquola), turns up on his doorstep – when her honeymoon is cut short by her husband deciding to leave Bali (and the relationship) early. In no time, these two friends are thrown into the center of small town life with Daniel confronted at every turn by the ghosts of his adolescent past and a town that hasn’t moved on, while Emma is lapping up her anonymity in Rosehaven and newfound life on the lam. Soon enough, these two best buddies find both their friendship and their sanity put to the test by the charming, but deeply eccentric, townsfolk of Rosehaven.

Season 1 of Rosehaven makes its US debut on SundanceTV on Wednesday, September 27th. In addition, SundanceTV co-produced the show’s second season, which will premiere in the US immediately after season 1 on Wednesday, October 25th. Check out the trailer above.
