The latest episode of Norm Macdonald Live dropped today, and this time Macdonald has a lengthy chat with fellow Saturday Night Live alum Dana Carvey. Unsurprisingly, the interview is jam-packed with impersonations, from Carvey’s famous take on Johnny Carson to a Burt Lancaster/Kirk Douglas bit that Lorne Michaels once told Bill Hader was the funniest thing he’s ever heard. The two also talk about the difference between performing sketch and standup for an audience, the Wild West-set comedy Bob Odenkirk wrote for him that never got made, and some very dark Peter Sellers trivia Carvey knows involving a lot of dead animals (“This is what I was told. Am I gonna get sued?”). “Specifically with comedy though, with age your comedy, I think, should become better,” Macdonald says at one point during the interview. “It should, it’s just that you become a caricature of yourself,” Carvey responds. “No one escapes that. No one escapes eventually becoming kind of an impression of themselves.”
