Back in January, Cinemax ordered a half-hour animated series from Mike Judge called Tales from the Tour Bus, and today the network confirmed the premiere date. The eight-episode series, which is co-created by Judge, Richard Mullins, and Dub Cornett, debuts Friday, September 22nd at 10:30pm. The series “chronicles the tales of some of country music’s most eccentric characters” including Johnny Paycheck, Jerry Lee Lewis, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Billy Joe Shaver, Waylon Jennings, and Blaze Foley. Judge will also narrate the series, which will include animated interviews with “former bandmates, friends and other erstwhile associates” as well as photos and live-action archival footage.
