Here’s a clip from last night’s Late Night, where Seth Meyers takes “A Closer Look” at Donald Trump’s tax plan and how he reacted to the attack in New York earlier this week, including a tweet saying the suspect should get the death penalty. “Hey man, you’re the president now. You’re not an old crank yelling at the TV over the bar. When you tweet that, you’re jamming yourself into the judicial process and tainting the jury pool,” Meyers says, “in the same way you probably taint every pool you get into.” Meyers also covers the Russia investigation and the news that Trump called a New York Times reporter to insist that he’s “actually not angry at anybody” and that he’s “really enjoying” his time in office despite what some news reports say. “This has been him enjoying it? Dear God, what’s it gonna look like when he starts to hate it? You’ll just log in to Twitter and there’ll be a gaping rage hole,” Meyers says. (Little did Meyers know that for 11 minutes last night, that gaping rage hole became a reality…sort of.)
