Kobi Libii Checks in on Fox News, “Television’s Home for Black History Month,” on ‘The Opposition’

Black History Month has begun, so during last night’s The Opposition, Jordan Klepper welcomed Citizen Journalist Kobi Libii to check in on how Fox News, AKA “television’s home for Black History Month,” is handling things: “All across Fox News, they’re taking advantage of this month to really listen…to themselves telling black people how to act.” Libii specifically focuses on Fox News figures like Laura Ingraham and Greg Gutfeld and their complaining about things like the Congressional Black Caucus not applauding during Trump’s State of the Union and NFL players kneeling in protest of police brutality – issues important to the BLM movement (as in “Black Lives? Manners!”, not Black Lives Matter). “Black manners dictate that if you want to participate in the public discourse you need to be either fun or grateful, and ideally both!” Libii says. “But if black people don’t speak in a humble, accessible way, the rest of America won’t hear them.” And no outlet covers the “Black Lives? Manners!” movement better than Fox News: “These guys just don’t see race…until they do, and then immediately become an authority on it.”
