Catch Up on the Weekend’s Award Show Monologues from Jimmy Kimmel, Nick Kroll, and John Mulaney

Over the weekend were two big movie award shows: the Independent Spirit Awards on IFC, and the Oscars on ABC. Both ceremonies featured returning hosts, with Nick Kroll and John Mulaney hosting the Independent Spirit Awards together and late night host Jimmy Kimmel coming back to host the Academy Awards. In case you missed it, check out Kimmel’s opening monologue for the Oscars above: “Oscar is the most beloved and respected man in Hollywood, and there’s a very good reason why. Just look at him – keeps his hands where you can see them, never says a rude word, and most importantly, no penis at all.” You can also catch up on Mulaney and Kroll’s opening monologue from the Independent Spirit Awards in three parts below. Here’s part 1: “Independent film. Now, what do we mean when we say film? Well, in many ways, we mean movies.”

Part 2: “And what about Woody Allen and his last 20 unwatchable movies? Can I still not watch them, or must I reevaluate based on these new allegations that were a matter of public record 30 years ago?”

Part 3: “I love your name, by the way. Timothée Chalamet. I want to hear RuPaul say ‘Chalamet, you stay. DuVernay, sashay away.’”
