The Sympathizer
Park Chan-wook and Don McKellar tackle an adaptation of Viet Thanh Nguyen’s acclaimed novel of the same name in this new HBO miniseries. Along with co-showrunning, Chan-wook will also direct a handful of episodes. As for what The Sympathizer is about, well, Hoa Xuande plays a communist spy who leaves Vietnam, goes to Los Angeles and faces all kinds of obstacles, including Robert Downey Jr. in four different roles. (Streaming April 14.)
