Someone has finally swooped in to save Maroon 5! TMZ reports that Travis Scott has agreed to perform with the rumored Super Bowl halftime show headliners, ending a reported weeks-long scramble to find anyone else willing to associate themselves with the NFL. (No word on if Drake will come along for his and Scott’s No. 1 hit, “Sicko Mode.”) Maroon 5 are in even more luck because it appears Cardi B is back on the table as well, after earlier reports that the rift between her and Offset coupled with Maroon 5 wanting both Cardi and Migos for the show had caused her to back out. (Cardi and Offset famously began dating at the Super Bowl last year.) Atlanta’s own Big Boi is also said to be in the mix. Meanwhile, TMZ reports that of course Travis will be bringing Kylie Jenner as his date to the big game. Was this what Travis meant by “fire” proposal???

Update: Local uncle Jay-Z might foil the Super Bowl’s halftime plans. Per Variety, Jay-Z “is attempting to talk Scott out of performing.” Hov has been critical of how the league has mishandled protests from Colin Kaepernick and other players, and on the Everything Is Love song “Apeshit” he revealed that he’d turned down performing at the Super Bowl. Reps for Andre 3000 have also clarified to Vulture that there’s “no truth” to earlier reports that he’s also involved.
