It was a night of a thousand ties over at the 24th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards. Lady Gaga and Glenn Close both took home the evening’s Best Actress award for their turns in A Star Is Born and The Wife, respectively. Over in the television categories, Sharp Objects star Amy Adams and Escape at Dannemora’s Patricia Arquette both won Best Actress in a Limited Series. Okay, so it was just the two ties, but you have to admit, they were extremely good ones.

Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Favourite led this year’s Critics’ Choice Awards nominations with 14, but in the end the film snagged just two awards: Best Acting Ensemble, and Best Actress in a Comedy for Olivia Colman. Meanwhile, Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma took home Best Picture and won him Best Director. Green Book’s Mahershala Ali and If Beale Street Could Talk’s Regina King won Best Supporting Actor and Actress, while Elsie Fisher of Eighth Grade was named Best Young Actor/Actress, which is definitely not going to make high school way more complicated than it already is.

As for this year’s television awards, the love just keeps on coming for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which snagged Best Comedy Series and won Rachel Brosnahan a Best Actress in a Comedy Series award. Sandra Oh took home Best Actress in a Drama Series for Killing Eve, while Matthew Rhys won Best Actor in a Drama Series for The Americans, which, of course, also took home Best Drama Series.
