With some outlets pronouncing the Vanity Fair Oscars party dead (though it seemed pretty chill to us?), a new successor has moved into town. For the second year in a row, Beyoncé and Jay-Z hosted their own Oscars after-party and, as you can imagine, only the cream of the Hollywood crop was invited. Per Us Weekly, the shindig went down at the Chateau Marmont (in the garage — so hip!) where guests were reportedly encouraged to honor a no-phone policy and avoid taking pictures and, like, just live in the moment, guys — you’re in a room crammed to the gills with hot famous people! “They wanted the environment to feel safe for everyone, so everyone could actually just be themselves and let loose,” a source told Us Weekly. Armand de Brignac Brut Gold Champagne was apparently flowing, Daniel Humm and Eleven Madison Park did the catering, and paparazzi and press weren’t allowed inside (sigh, for us).
The Carters reportedly curated the entire guest list, and it looks like they have a sick sense of humor. They invited Rihanna and Drake and Leonardo DiCaprio, and were likely seated at the best vantage point with some popcorn, watching all the ways Rih curved her former playthings.
Also in attendance were John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Adele, Jennifer Lopez and A-Rod, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet, Ciara and Russell Wilson, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, Diddy, Serena Williams, Tiffany Haddish (all is forgiven!), Jamie Foxx (with a woman who is not Katie Holmes, hmmm), Adam Driver, Aziz Ansari, OSCAR WINNER SPIKE LEE, OSCAR WINNER OLIVIA COLMAN, and, you know, more beautiful notables.
Rihanna left the party in slippers because what faster way to escape those undeserving men?
