Lindsey Buckingham has been having a tough go of it lately. Last year, he was kicked out of Fleetwood Mac with little to no warning. Now, he not only needed open heart surgery, but his vocal cords were damaged during the procedure. “He is now recuperating at home and each day he is stronger than the last,” his wife Kristen said on social media. “While it is unclear if this damage is permanent, we are hopeful it is not.” Buckingham has a family history of heart issues. His father died at 56 and his brother at 46 from heart-related illness, according to CNN. Members of Fleetwood Mac expressed their sympathies on social media. “Our thoughts and love go out to Lindsey and his entire family,” the band’s Twitter feed stated. “We are hopeful for his speedy recovery.” The Mac recently settled a lawsuit with Buckingham over his firing.
