For various, spoiler-y reasons, John Krasinski will remain squarely behind the camera for his upcoming A Quiet Place sequel, but don’t worry: Those kids will still have a father figure in their life. On the other hand, that figure might be Cillian Murphy, which, given his acting history, suggests Regan and Marcus may be better off with the aliens. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy is purportedly in talks to join Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe in the upcoming film. The actor would reportedly portray “a man with mysterious intentions who joins the family unit.” Best-case scenario? The Abbott children have to deal with homicidal space monsters and a new stepdad. And we have a feeling we’re not looking at a best-case scenario. “Mysterious” intentions are the most suspicious kind!
