Live From Twitter, It’s Donald Trump Threatening SNL With Federal Investigations

A scheduled rerun of SNL was apparently too much for Donald Trump to handle last night, as the president is now using his time to threaten severe legal action against the show. (For his sake, we hope he knew it was a rerun … right?) Trump’s penchant for bitching about SNL on social media has been one of his most predicable traits for years, although dabbling in legalese is a relatively new angle. “It’s truly incredible that shows like Saturday Night Live, not funny/no talent, can spend all of their time knocking the same person (me), over and over, without so much of a mention of ‘the other side.’ Like an advertisement without consequences,” he wrote on Twitter. “Same with late night shows. Should Federal Election Commission and/or FCC look into this? There must be collusion with the Democrats and, of course, Russia! Such one sided media coverage, most of it fake news. Hard to believe I won and am winning.”

In a previous Twitter spree from December, Trump also stated his belief that collusion was somehow at play with Alec Baldwin’s recurring impression. “A real scandal is the one sided coverage, hour by hour, of networks like NBC and Democrat spin machines like Saturday Night Live,” he wrote at the time. “It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem commercials. Should be tested in courts, can’t be legal? Only defame and belittle!” Here are some SNL sketches that tease Democrats, if you’re so inclined to watch.
