Teyana Taylor’s new video for her song “Issues/Hold On” was directed by the singer herself, under the moniker Teyana “Spike Lee” Taylor. It’s fitting considering the ‘70s aesthetic was likely inspired by BlacKkKlansman and also because it’s extremely well directed, but can’t win an Oscar (they, weirdly, don’t give Oscars to music videos.) The video stars Taylor and A$AP Rocky as a married couple with issues. A$AP Ferg, Kristen Crawley and Lori Harvey also appear as the couple’s friends and, in Harvey’s case, potential saboteurs. The video then takes an R-rated turn when they do indeed decide to hold on.
