Coachella Tried to Dim Lizzo’s Shine Once Again But They Messed With the Wrong One

Lizzo’s star has never shined brighter: The singer just put out her major label debut to rave reviews, she continues to be required following on social media for the manual to self-love, and, once again, is making Coachella her bitch. During her debut at the festival last weekend, her set was plagued with sound issues throughout, causing her to scold them on their own stage (“Ain’t nothing gonna fuck my time up, bitch!”) and still turn in one of the standout performances of the weekend, no thanks to Coachella. Despite assurances from the festival that they wouldn’t do her dirty again this weekend, Coachella was back on its bullshit.

Most of her weekend two set on Sunday ran smoothly, but when Lizzo got to her finale, “Juice,” the backing track glitched and skipped so far ahead to the point where, for anyone else, the whole number would’ve been unsalvageable. But Lizzo ain’t just anyone. “I refuse to have another technical difficulty,” she reportedly told the crowd, then instructed the festival to cut the track and proceeded to perform the whole song with her dancers a cappella for another defining moment. And for her final flex, she grabbed her trusted Sasha Flute for a solo to make a laughing stock of the festival. “If they ain’t gonna get the music right, I’m gonna get the music right,” she reportedly said. “That’s why I got my music major.” Her parting message to the festival? “Suck my dick.”
