The Cranberries Are Releasing One More Album With Dolores O’Riordan’s Unfinished Demos

The Cranberries are honoring their late frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan with a final album. In the End comes out Friday, and was created using unfinished demos recorded by O’Riordan shortly before her death. “It was just like winning the Lotto,” lead guitarist Noel Hogan told the Associated Press. “And that was it. We had the songs.” O’Riordan passed in January of last year. Her death was ruled an accidental drowning caused by acute intoxication. Hogan said in the years before her death, O’Riordan had actually been in a better place in her life, with a new relationship and a better understanding of her bipolar diagnosis. “Things were looking up. That’s what a lot of these songs are about,” Hogan said. “If she was still here today sitting with us, nobody would think anything else of it. You would just think, These are songs about that period. But, obviously, with everything that’s happened, it’s something we’ll be asked, I think, for a long, long time.”
