Kanye West Held a Church Service at Coachella Through a Peephole

Kanye West brought some church to Coachella this year, performing his Sunday Service for festival goers and the Coachella YouTube livestream. He’d initially been slated to perform a regular set at the festival, until he backed out over their inability to provide him with a dome (Ugh!). But they apparently won him back by offering him a mountain, from which he, Kid Cudi, Teyana Taylor, DMX, and Chance the Rapper quite literally took everyone to church, with West even debuting a brand new song called “Water,” as most of the Kardashians looked on. The service itself was an emotional affair, with West at one point breaking down in tears. But this is also a Kanye West livestream, so for the viewers at home it could never be this simple. It was broadcast through a peephole cam, which forced those viewing on YouTube to watch the service as though it were a solar eclipse. But, there’s probably a very artistic explanation for this we’d understand if we had freedom of thought. There will be a replay of the livestream at 3 P.M. PT today.
