What 007 wants, 007 gets. The wonderful Phoebe Waller-Bridge, of Fleabag and Killing Eve fame, has been brought in to “liven up” and “polish” the script for the upcoming James Bond film. The Guardian reports Waller-Bridge’s hiring came from the specific request of leading man Daniel Craig, who’s apparently a massive fan of her idiosyncratic type of wit. It’s also reported that the duo personally met in New York to discuss the creative direction of the film, where Craig appealed to her to introduce “more humor and offbeat style of writing” to the franchise, as opposed to, like, silly jokes about martinis.

Bond 25, which has the current working title of Shatterhand, will be directed by True Detective’s Cary Joji Fukunaga after Danny Boyle quit last year due to “creative differences.” It’s slated for a April 2020 release. We hope there is a very fashionable assassin who wears pink tutus!
