Busy Tonight suddenly has a much clearer schedule going forward. Busy Philipps has revealed that E! will stop airing her talk show on May 16. “I’m beyond proud of what we’ve built in such a short period of time,” Philipps tweeted. “And I’m hopeful we can find the right place for the show to live on.” Philipps also addressed the cancellation on her Instagram Story last night. “We’ve talked to some people and we are trying to figure out if there’s a place that makes sense for our show to go to, and hopefully we will be able to figure that out,” she said. “I hope that, you know, we can continue to do the show somewhere else. I hope that we figure that out, because it does seem lame that there would be just, like, just be one woman in late night at a time.” (Busy Tonight’s cancellation will leave Samantha Bee as the only other female late-night talk-show host, up until NBC starts airing A Little Late With Lilly Singh.) Busy Tonight premiered in October 2018 and aired four nights a week on E! and has featured guest appearances from the likes of Oprah, Michelle Williams, Steve Carell, and Mandy Moore, as well as a valiant effort to save another show, One Day at a Time.

Busy Tonight last episode for E! will air Thursday, May 16 with a special celebratory half-hour,” the network said in its own statement.”Busy is a hilarious and charismatic talent and we are grateful to the entire Busy Tonight team who has delivered countless laughs and heartwarming moments in what will be over 100 episodes.”
