The film takes the perspective of the Manson family women, including the three who notoriously committed the crimes of 1969. Here we see an early scene of their radicalization on the ranch, as Manson (Matt Smith) feverishly lays out his “Helter Skelter” race-war conspiracy theory for an audience of rapt listeners. These include Hannah Murray (Gilly on Game of Thrones), Sosie Bacon, and Susan Atkins. See IFC Films’ Charlie Says in theaters May 10.
