Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Got Married in Vegas and We Have Diplo to Thank for Recording It All

In news almost as sudden as that time [redacted] defeated [redacted] on Game of Thrones, robe-wearing Instagram queen Sophie Turner and Vulture contributor Joe Jonas have gotten married! The two went over to Vegas’s perma-quick-wedding-ready Chapel L’Amour after last night’s Billboard Music Awards. There was, of course, an Elvis impersonator present, an appearance by Khalid, and even a few musical performances. (The other two Jonas brothers served as groomsmen.) It was all the height of kitsch, down to the use of ring pops as wedding bands, which is both delightful and something we can imagine Jon Snow grumbling about Sansa enjoying on Game of Thrones. We somehow have Diplo to thank for recording it all on his Instagram story.

According to People, Turner and Jonas did in fact apply for a marriage license earlier in the day in Clark County, Nevada, and the wedding is indeed legit. The two got engaged back in October 2017, and reportedly first started dating in November 2016. We would characterize this particular wedding as extremely more low-key than Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s recent elaborate and days-long wedding festivities, though we wouldn’t put it past Turner and Jonas to double down with some more traditional celebrations at a later date. (Though, of course, having an Elvis marry you is a grand tradition of its own.) Thank you, again, to star celebrity news reporter Diplo for his work on the ground.
