Worst. Party. Ever. Breathing new life into the ’90s family drama, Freeform’s Party of Five reboot swerves away from killing its parents in a car accident in favor of another modern tragedy: The Acostas are deported back to Mexico for being undocumented, forcing their five children to grow up real fast and take care of each other, lest social services step in and split them up. (Especially since the youngest is only a few months old.) “They managed with a lot less than we had,” one of the siblings offers as a much-needed pep talk. “They figured it out and so will we.” It’s set to debut later in 2019.
Other news from Freeform that might tickle your fancy: That spooky mermaid drama, Siren, has been renewed for a third season, and The Simpsons will begin airing reruns on the network in September. D’oh!
