The comedy trio of Mitra Jouhari, Sandy Honig, and Alyssa Stonoha, a.k.a. Three Busy Debras, is officially heading to Adult Swim. The network announced today that it’s handed out a series order for a live-action quarter-hour comedy from the group to be titled Three Busy Debras. Originally ordered to pilot last year, the show centers on “the surreal day-to-day lives of three deranged housewives, all named Debra, in their affluent suburban town of Lemoncurd, Connecticut.”
In addition to co-creating and starring in the show, Jouhari, Honig, and Stonoha will also serve as executive producers alongside Amy Poehler, Kim Lessing, and director Anna Dokoza. It will mark the first series order for a show created by a group of women in Adult Swim history. Production for the show’s first season is slated to begin sometime later this year.
