DJ Khaled has released the video he filmed with John Legend and Nipsey Hussle days before the rapper’s death. On Wednesday, Khaled made a statement via Instagram, writing “Recently, I embarked on a soul-searching journey down a road I never thought I would travel in a million years. It began when a tragedy robbed the world of an enlightened soul, a brother, a father, a partner and my friend, Nipsey Hussle. Just days prior, he shared his energy and positivity with me on a video set for a song called, ‘Higher.’” Khaled wrote that after this period of reflection, and after gaining the permission of Hussle’s family, he decided to release the video in memory of his friend and collaborator. “Higher” is filmed in Hussle’s beloved Los Angeles, and the proceeds for the single will go to Hussle’s children.
