The King is coming to the Beeb. Glenda Jackson is starring in dementia thriller Elizabeth Is Missing for BBC One. The story centers on Maud (Jackson), a woman who knows something terrible has happened to her friend Elizabeth. But as her symptoms worsen, the past mingles with the present. Maud will have to race to find out what happened to her friend before she’s gone, too. Jackson hasn’t made an onscreen appearance in 25 years, during which she served in British Parliament for 23 years and starred as King Lear at the Old Vic and on Broadway. Sarah Brown and Andrea Gibb are executive producing, according to Deadline. Gibb is adapting the story from the novel by Emma Healey. Filming begins in Scotland this summer.
