Sandra Bullock Made Bird Box for Her Kids, Whom She Has Banned From Watching Bird Box

The blindfolds needed for this particular challenge are going to be substantial. Accepting her award for Most Frightening Performance at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards last night, Sandra Bullock said her two young children inspired her to give Netflix a chance with Bird Box, since the film lets her go full-on mama-bear mode. The only issue? Her kids are so young it’s going to be about a decade until they can watch it. “My children asked me to make something for them. I knew this was a story I needed to make because it was about family,” Bullock explained. “When I finished my film, I went to my babies and said, ‘Here, Mommy made this for you, and I know you can’t see it until you’re 21, but you’ll know there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you.’”

And because we could probably listen to Bullock monologue on family values for hours (hello, Blind Side!), here’s some additional Tuesday inspiration for you. “Family is what you fight for, what you protect,” she said about her kids. “No matter what, you are my first thought in the morning and my last thought at night. I was put on this earth to protect you. You are my world.” Well, that’s funny, Bullock is also our world.
