A$AP Rocky’s trial began today in Stockholm, after about a month of waiting and letting Donald Trump get overly involved. According to TMZ, the rapper pleaded not guilty to the assault charges that have him facing up to two years in jail. Both he and two crew members arrested alongside him maintain that they were acting in self-defense after being provoked by the alleged victim. Prosecutors are claiming they hit him with a bottle in addition to punching and kicking him, but Rocky’s lawyer, Martin Persson, will argue otherwise. Footage distributed by Rocky himself and TMZ show different parts of the altercation, some where the rapper and his friends are being followed and one where a man who appears to be Rocky is attacking an alleged victim. Per “Page Six,” Stockholm District Court has blocked off the rest of this week for the secure trial, but it’s unclear how long the court will actually need. It will take a week to hear the judges’s sentence, and if Rocky is convicted, the prosecutor has said he will not recommend the maximum sentence. Answers are on their way, so let’s, uh, stop threatening embassies, people.
