Ed Sheeran isn’t just confirming that he and his fiancée, Cherry Seaborn, did indeed tie the knot earlier this year. He’s also confirmed that she’s responsible for bringing together the summer jam “I Don’t Care” featuring Justin Bieber. In an exclusive interview with iHeartRadio’s Charlamagne tha God, Sheeran got candid about his relationship and how it impacted his music. New album No.6 Collaborations Project has love songs (“I wake up everyday next to Cherry and I’m just like ‘Why the fuck are you with me?’”), heartbreak songs (“Now it’s all scenario,”) and “I Don’t Care” (which Cherry apparently A&R’d). “She was like ‘Oh, why don’t you get Bieber. He’d be perfect for this,’” Sheeran told Charlamagne. She couldn’t have been more correct.

“Bieber just got married,” he explained. “I just got married. That song is about being at an industry event with the woman you love … and kind of being like ‘Fuck this, let’s just have fun ourselves.’” And now we all have the perfect song to listen to when we, too, are stuck at fancy events with “beautiful people” and free food. Thanks, Cherry, and congrats on the marriage!
