Smash’s Megan Hilty and Waitress actress Jessie Mueller star in the first trailer for Lifetime’s Patsy & Loretta as country greats Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn, respectively. Even when she was already a bonafide star, Cline famously supported up-and-coming female country acts, and asked to meet Lynn after the “Coal Miner’s Daughter” singer covered Cline’s “I Fall to Pieces” during her recovery from injuries sustained in a severe car accident in June of 1961. The pair bonded quickly, and encouraged each other’s personal and professional success until Cline’s untimely death in an airplane crash less than two years later at the age of 30. Patsy & Loretta will debut sometime this fall.
