Lil Nas X is fully out and fully over whatever you have to say about it. After strongly insinuating on Twitter that he is a member of the LGBTQ community, the rapper announced on the BBC Breakfast Friday morning that he is gay. He told interviewers he had considered just never coming out, ever, but that “I don’t want to live my entire life … not doing what I want to do.” He also said he’s already getting backlash online, but that it’s not getting to him. “Learning the internet over the past couple years, you know, I used to be that person, being negative, so it’s like, I’m not angry or anything because it’s like I understand, you know, how they just want that reaction, but I’m just gonna joke back with ’em, so.” He then demonstrated his lack of bother by getting up as soon as the interview was over and strolling off set right between the anchors and their live TV camera, an accident he later laughed off on Twitter with fans. Because Lil Nas X is doing something no one on the internet has seen in years: He’s honey badgering.
