Pretty Woman: The Musical will close its run at Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre August 18, according to Deadline. That’s the same closure date as King Kong and The Cher Show, who both announced their Broadway exists last month. At final curtain, Pretty Woman will have run at the Nederlander for 27 preview and 421 regular performances. Although shut out of Tony noms, the show was the highest-grossing and longest-running new musical of the 2018-2019 Broadway season. Its book was by the late, great Garry Marshall. Along with its closing date, the Pretty Woman producers announced a national tour that will start in 2020. A West End production that was originally set for October will now also begin in 2020.
