For 20th anniversary of 9/11, ABC announced Monday that it is developing an adaptation of Mitchell Zuckoff’s Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11 to premiere in 2021. The book, published earlier this year, used survivor interviews, government studies, trial transcripts, and more to weave together a minute-by-minute account of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. ABC’s adaptation will be a limited series, produced by Lionsgate and 3 Arts Entertainment, and executive produced by Zuckoff himself. “I can’t imagine a more perfect home for this project,” Zuckoff said in the network’s announcement. “On 9/11, millions of people learned about the attacks by turning to ABC. I have complete faith that the network will enable us to bring new and enhanced life to the stories I was privileged to tell in Fall and Rise.”
