Look out, Los Espookys, because there’s another creepy-sounding comedy making its way to television soon. According to Variety, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are teaming up again for a new horror-comedy series in the works at Amazon. The streaming network has ordered eight episodes of the half-hour show starring the duo titled Truth Seekers, which centers on a pair of paranormal investigators who “take out haunted churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals using an array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos and share their adventures on an online channel. Their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, terrifying, and even deadly as the pair begin to uncover a conspiracy that could threaten the entire human race.” Frost will play Gus, one of the ghost hunters, while not much about Pegg’s role has been revealed just yet. Pegg and Frost are credited as co-writers on the project alongside Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz, and Jim Field Smith (Episodes, Wrecked) will direct. It will mark the first TV series order for Pegg and Frost’s production company Stolen Pictures.

“It’s been nothing but a joyride in seeing this mad tale of paranormal conspiracy unfold in all its understated brilliance,” Frost said on the project. Added Pegg: “Nick and I are delighted that Truth Seekers has found a home with Amazon Prime Video. We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special. These are truly exciting times for television, and I can’t think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen.”
