Danny Trejo may be known for playing hardcore tough guys, but on Wednesday he proved he’s actually a hardcore good guy. While hanging out in Los Angeles, Trejo witnessed a car run a red light, crashing into and overturning another vehicle. He then sprang into action, helping to free a special-needs child who was trapped inside the car that had been struck. Trejo and another bystander freed the boy from his car seat and then Trejo kept him calm while firefighters worked to free his grandmother. Luckily, the actor has experience working with special-needs children, as all hardcore good guys do. “He was panicked. I said okay, we have to use our superpowers. So he screamed ‘superpowers’ and we started yelling ‘superpowers.’ I said do this, with the muscles. He said ‘muscles,’” Trejo told ABC7. “We got kind of a bond. I kept facing him away from the accident.” Three people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and Trejo hopes everyone learns a lesson from this. “Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else,” he said. “Everything.”
