Disney Will Make a ‘Reimagined’ Home Alone

According to Deadline, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced today that the company had big plans for the library of films it just acquired from its merger with Fox. At least four films are set to be rebooted specifically for the new Disney+ streaming service, including Home Alone, Night at the Museum, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Cheaper by the Dozen. But Iger was clear that these won’t simply be reboots. These films will in fact be “reimagined” for “a new generation.” Meaning, we have to assume, that Kevin McCallister will be able to Google instructions for how to 3-D print even more elaborate booby traps, while the wet bandits try to find their way past several Nest cameras.
