Kirsten Dunst has been out here starring in great movies — and now great TV shows — for almost 30 years, and yesterday she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her longtime friend and collaborator Sofia Coppola gave some brief remarks before her partner, Jesse Plemons, took the stage and melted some hearts. After saying Dunst’s star was long overdue and plugging her new show, On Becoming a God in Central Florida, for her, Plemons shared the story about the first time they met — in perhaps the least romantic place in the continental United States: Los Angeles International Airport. The actor said he was waiting in line for his flight out to the set of Fargo when he heard Dunst say his name. Plemons was nervous to meet one of his acting heroes, but says he remembers “every detail” of their exchange, telling the crowd, “I looked into her eyes and saw the beautiful, sweet, unguarded, welcoming, human being that she is. It was truly in an instant.” In return, Dunst told Plemons during her remarks, “You are my everything, and I never thought I would have a partner that understands me the way that you do.” Consider your Hollywood power-couple ranking realigned!
