Robin Thede Is Ready for Amber Ruffin to Have Her Own Late Night Show

The word of Amber Ruffin is spreading! Late Night with Seth Meyers writer Amber Ruffin has slowly but surely winning over all of his fans with segments like “Amber Says What” and “Jokes Seth Can’t Tell” and now it’s only a matter of time before Meyers retires and hands over the show. As a writer on HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show, Ruffin appeared behind the bar on Watch What Happens Live with Issa Rae and Robin Thede, who has officially co-signed the movement. “You know who I’d want to see [on late night]?” Thede responds to a fan question. “Amber Ruffin!” Cue Ruffin’s iconic poses. “I would watch it. I would watch you posing behind the counter,” Andy Cohen adds. The word of Amber is spreading. Should we start a hashtag? Or just late fate run its course? “I’m so excited because when Amber’s big show is like the biggest hit ever, we’re gonna have the clip of her being a bartender,” Cohen says. Emphasis on when, not if.
