Too many cooks spoil the broth, and too many Jason Bournes turns the world into a roiling cauldron of surprise ass-kicking. USA released the trailer for its upcoming thriller Treadstone on Friday. The series is a spinoff from the Jason Bourne cinematic universe, which you might have deduced from the multiple sleeper agents discovering their insane martial-arts skills and complete lack of memory. Clearly, the handlers at Operation Treadstone did not learn the lesson of the Jason Bourne films, which is: Not all Jason Bournes are cool with being the mindless assassins their shadowy government agency requires. It’s like Jeff Goldblum one said, “Your Jason Bourne scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should make way too many Jason Bournes.” The series premieres in October.
