Quick, somebody clear Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s schedules. More than a decade after the release of their last album (and lingering blacklist treatment from the country-music community for getting too outspoken about a certain president), the Dixie Chicks are back in the studio. Per Consequence of Sound, the trio is currently recording a new album comprised of original material, set to be called Gaslighter. “Our last album was the most personal and autobiographical we’d ever been,” Natalie Maines explained on the Spiritualgasm podcast. “And then this one is, like, ten times that.” Maines and her fellow Chicks, Martie Maguire and Emily Robinson, recently posted an Instagram video in the studio with producer extraordinaire Jack Antonoff, although she didn’t confirm on the podcast what his Gaslighter involvement is. We’ll still yee to this haw!
