John Goodman, Emma Stone, Jon Hamm: All of our favorite Saturday Night Live hosts from the early to mid aughts have stood the test of time, boosting both the show’s and their own star power. But had we lived in a different world, Orlando Bloom may have been on that list as well. On The Howard Stern Show, Bloom revealed that he turned down an SNL hosting gig because of his dyslexia. “I was really insecure at the time,” Bloom said. “I was just like, partly my dyslexia, partly like that window of time where I couldn’t even think straight and see the wood through the trees.” Bloom was offered the hosting spot in the middle of his Pirates of the Caribbean fame, and doubtless would have given us a Lonely Island bop that we will never hear. The good news is that Bloom would now do the show “in a heartbeat.” We’re waiting, Lorne.
