In his breakout role as Stranger Things teen heartthrob Steve Harrington, actor Joe Keery’s almost comically thick head of hair took on a life of its own, to the point that the series went out of its way to have Steve address the steps to achieving his extremely impressive, extremely ’80s swoop: Fabergé Organics shampoo and conditioner, four spritzes of Farrah Fawcett hairspray, a secret only you and your good friend Dustin know, etc. In real life, Keery has credited his incredible mane to the whims of science. “It’s just my genetics,” he said in 2017. “I don’t do anything different than any other person. I would say, truly, it’s just my parents’ heads.” However, according to the new haircut the actor debuted at a Chanel event Thursday night in L.A., he does, in fact, do something different than any other person.
