At the forefront of the fight against climate change: the cast of Netflix’s Grace and Frankie. Today, at a protest in Washington, D.C., to raise awareness about the climate crisis, Jane Fonda was cuffed and detained by the police alongside Sam Waterston, who appears with Fonda in Grace and Frankie (they were also in The Newsroom together). The two appeared as part of a protest action dubbed Fire Drill Fridays in support of a Green New Deal. Waterston’s character on Grace and Frankie happens to be an activist, though at the protest today, the actor said this was his first time being arrested.

Fonda was also arrested last Friday at a protest and has said that she will be at the Capitol “every Friday, rain or shine, inspired and emboldened by the incredible movement our youth have created.” The actress and lifelong activist plans to continue protesting for the next four months, and hopefully she will also find a way to get all of her co-stars involved. We’re looking at you, Lily Tomlin and Martin Sheen. Also, secondarily, we feel strongly that all the Netflix comedies should radicalize — Kominsky Method cast, now’s the time to get serious about income inequality.
