If history were to repeat itself, a cease and desist letter for this song will be arriving in Donald Trump’s orange hands in about a decade. Michael Stipe, of Really Entertaining Music (or, R.E.M.) fame, has released his very first solo track, which doubles as his first new music since R.E.M. broke up in 2011. (Or did they break up at all?) Per Rolling Stone, the synth-tastic “Your Capricious Soul” can be downloaded on Stipe’s official website for a cool 77 cents, or, if you’re feeling cheap, can also be listened to in the below video. “I took a long break from music, and I wanted to jump back in,” Stipe said in a statement. “I want to add my voice to this exciting shift in consciousness.” Beards, though, are not welcome.
