Ariel Dumas Is The Late Show Head Writer and Zelda Is the Boy

A writer who has worked with Stephen Colbert since the Colbert Report days just got a big promotion at his CBS show today. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Late Show writer Ariel Dumas, who has been at the show since it debuted, has been promoted to head writer. She will join fellow head writer Jay Katsir, while supervising producer Opus Moreschi will take on more responsibilities overseeing longer-term writing projects for the show. Katsir will also serve as a supervising producer.

“I have worked with all three of these incredibly talented people since The Colbert Report,” said Colbert on the news. “I am thrilled that someone as funny and dedicated as Ariel will be my new head writer and that Opus and Jay will continue to be comedic Gibraltars, on which I can lean, and host donors, from whom I can harvest organs.”
