Vegas is a place for true icons: Janet Jackson, Shania Twain, and the former queen of Sin City herself, Céline Dion. Seeing as Kelly Clarkson has covered all of these artists (along with many others), isn’t it time for her to claim her own marquee? That’s exactly what she announced today on her talk show, accompanied by some showgirls because “why not.” Kelly fittingly preceded the news with a Kellyoke medley of her own songs, rather than our usual daily dose of an amazing cover — presumably just a taste of what’s in store at “Invincible,” her Vegas residency beginning in April at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. While we’re of course excited to hear the hits from “Miss Independent” to “Love So Soft,” her smashing Kellyokes also have us hoping for more amazing covers every night. As for why Kelly’s excited? “Not only am I getting to perform, I’m gonna get to play all the Wheel of Fortune slots, which is really my reason for going there,” she says. Live your best life, Kelly! We’ll start looking into flights so we can live ours.
