Since even a trip to court would be considered an exciting activity in this quarantine era (out of the house, hello), Netflix dropped a trailer for its newest docuseries, Trial by Media, in case you’re feeling overly wistful for camera crews or Greek revival architecture. Executive-produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov, the six-part series examines how real courtroom dramas have transformed into a form of entertainment in recent decades, with Rod Blagojevich’s and Jenny Jones’s sensationalized made-for-TV trials among those reexamined. “It doesn’t matter about the law; it’s about being able to tell a story,” an analyst opines in the trailer. “Everything was done for the purpose of ratings. And ratings are money.” If only everything was done with the spirit of Night Court instead. All episodes will premiere on May 11.
