Chris Fleming Finally Reveals His Hair Routine

Thanks to the coronavirus, comedians are now trapped at home like the rest of us, so we decided that while we’re all self-quarantining, we’d do something a little different from our usual “Follow Friday” column. Instead of interviewing up-and-coming comedians we love on Twitter, we’re going live on Instagram every week to check in on some of our favorite people in comedy to get a firsthand look into how they’re handling the pandemic. So welcome to our new version of the column, now titled “Follow (From a Safe Distance) Friday.”

This week, I had the distinct honor of sitting down with Chris Fleming (YouTube, Showpig, running from DePiglio) for a convo on how he’s doing in lockdown. He gave us some advice on how to get started in internet comedy (key point: don’t), detailed what his dream intro would be if he were a cast member on the PBS kids’ show Zoom (dropping in from the ceiling to great bodily consequence), and shared some top-secret Massachusetts intel about the who’s who at Boston’s Studio 54 (Mr. Jordan Furniture, Bernie and Phyl). He also, at long last, revealed his highly sought-after hair routine: “Sea-salt spray. And I have violent night terrors, so that’s how I get this [curly] part.”
